Since 1918 the Spillson family has served quality food
in Monroe, Michigan. Our rice pudding is made from the original recipe that
was brought to Monroe from Greece by John Spillopoulos (changed to Spillson
upon entering the U.S.) in 1918. Made one batch at a time, we use only the
freshest ingredients.
Our milk is delivered fresh from a local dairy, we crack
all our eggs by hand (over 52,000 eggs were hand cracked last year), and we never
use preservatives! Bringing back the old recipe and marketing it to the public
came on a whim. What started out as a favor of 3 pounds of rice pudding has
turned into a 1,500 pound a week pudding explosion.
